Bonnie .... this guys family get more and more interesting .... this has great possibilities and you may have hit on why there is so little info for this particular John ... he and his wife could well have died prior to 1880 and the son ended up with an Aunt and Uncle ..... I doubt that they would have dumped him and headed west but there is a remote possibility that they were settling a place and left the son until they got things in shape .... Gary Gary D.
