Can you try and work out approx when Herberts father came to Australia from New Zealand, and where he settled? Also, occupations/other family names - in fact anything at all you can glean may help. Imagine when your Grandfather was born, that certainly would be a start, as would localities (esp for researchers outside of Australia).
