My gg grandfather, Lenard Craig, was born in Tennessee according to the Alabama Census of 1850. He settled in Marshall County, Alabama about 1830 and that is as far back as I can go. Is it possible Lenard is connected to Esther? Esther Montgomery Craig's father, James Montgomery, came from Augusta County, Virginia and moved to Washington County, Tennessee in about 1781. He later settled in Blount County, Tennessee where he died in about 1812. He was a son of John and Esther (Houston) Montgomery who both came from Northern Ireland, were married in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania in 1738, and settled in Augusta County, Virginia around 1740.
