It sound like there must have been a Curtis family connection in the past. I know that Craig and Curtis families lived close together in the 19th century in what is now Pleasants County, WV. St. Marys is the county seat. The county is on the Ohio River and westward migration to Illinois was a natural migration route. I have some Curtis family connections but I haven't seen any Craig connection yet. I have not done much work on that line.
