Bernice, thanks for including all in your answer to Jonathan. He has been trying to locate you, but we had not your new address. I have been spending some time in and researching Greenbrier County to try to tie down William's parentage. Am getting closer, but not there yet. Cannot find as many Craigs in Greenbrier at that time as is generally reported, but there is a family with name spelled Creigh, so cannot rule them out. Best evidence so far is Diehl's statement that William had red hair. That seems to put him into the Craig/Nickle clan. I think we will get closer. I may go over there today. It is about two hours away, but great lunches at the Greenbrier resort, about 12 miles east of Lewisburg. Daley
