I thought it might be helpful because the children were adopted out after the parents died. I tried leaving a message on the board for someone researching the Craig family, but the e-mail address was no longer viable. Volume III #1992 entry Craig, John W., Hetty A., & Sarah E., orphans of Ewing P. & Jane Craig, deceased, Benton Co. David Nelson & Andrew J. Tigard gave affadavit that Ewing P. & Jane Craig died August 1852 on or near the Snake River, leaving 4 minor children, one since deceased leaving Hettie A. Sarah E. & John W. Craig, minor orphans of Ewing P. & Jane Craig. David Harer (Hara) was appointed guardian of the orphans. August 1854 I.H. Caton applied for guardianship of John W. Craig; securities were Silas M. Stout and Silas Belknap. Guardianship approved.
