Am looking for a connection that may go back to South Carolina. What I have now an unknown Craig and wife Elizabeth (maiden name unknown) married c.1815. Elizabeth was born c.1800 in North Carolina. They came to an area in Alabama near Gunters Lake north of the Tennessee River c.1830. At that time, they had the following known children: William Craig, born c. 1815, location unknown Leonard Craig, born 1819 in Tennessee Rebecca Craig, born 1823 in Tennessee John Craig, born 1829 in Tennessee James Craig, born 1830 in Alabama Leonard Craig was my gggrandfather. He married Mary "Nancy" Whitaker (born c.1819) around 1835. Any help would be appreciated. Do you have a birth location or parents? I have that John was born in Ireland came to the US in PA then later went on to SC. Glad to share more if any of this rings a bell. Can't wait to hear what else you have. I do show that he is buried in SC in a Presbyterian Cemetery.. but I show the Shilo Prebyterian Church Cemetery. I will check where I got that info.. sounds to close to be a coincidence. Donna ______________________________
Hi Jim, You have got my attention. I am pleased to see you have found the siblings of Leonard. How were you able to establish that William c. 1815, Rebecca c. 1823, John c. 1829, and James c. 1830 are Leonard's siblings? How were you able to determine that Elizabeth is their mother and she was c. 1800 NC? Thanks, Eldon -----Original Message----- From: Jim Craig [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Sunday, May 30, 2004 1:39 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [CRAIG-L] RE: CRAIG RESEARCH Am looking for a connection that may go back to South Carolina.
