I would like to thank LuAna Craig for this discovery. She replied to my last post (William Craig being a brother to Daniel Craig) and mentioned seeing this family on gencircles. After checking there, I poured over their records only to discover that this particular branch of the Craig family (and given as far back as this goes, probably many others) is descended from English and Scottish royalty. The farthest back anyone had gone (that I had seen) prior today was to William Craig, born 1475-1480. He married Elizabeth Lindsay and it is through her line that I made this discovery. Going back nine generations past Elizabeth, I discovered that her 8x great-grandfather was Robert Stewart. On the gencircles site he was listed as being a prince of Scotland. After digging around, I discovered that he was, indeed, Prince and his father was Robert II, the first Stewart king of Scotland from 1371-1390. Robert's brother John later became Robert III. Robert II's parents were Walter Stewart and Marjorie Bruce. Robert had inherited the throne from his grandfather, Robert the Bruce.
