    3. If you only knew the frustration some of us CRAIG researchers have in NOT being able to trace our families back to N. Ireland or Scotland!!! I would dearly love it if I could prove my James came from there. However, he was killed in the Revolution and his poor widow, Rhoda Craig left nothing for us except that James was Scotch-Irish. My "group" of James Craig/Rhoda Niblick researchers have spent well over 20 years searching records, writing letters, hiring Scottish and Irish researchers and still cannot even tell us where James was born. And we are a large group of people. We believe now his father was John and his mother was Anna, but have no other information than that....not much to go on when you're looking for a connection on the old sod. Some of us like to think he may have been in the group that came with Dr. Thomas Clark from Ballybay in County Monaghan when he brought his entire congregation to America in the 1750's. There was a James Craig, but we can't prove it was our James. In fact, of all the Scotch-Irish and Scottish ancestors I've researched, I can only track the Borlands, Howatts and Russels across the water and they came here much later than James or his Gowdy, Cochran, Anderson and Scott counterparts (just a plug for more of my family!) Please don't think we are ignoring attempts to locate our families back in your territory. This is the main goal of some of us, but the name James Craig is far too common to track down back in the early 1700's.
