I've seen my Craigs in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Indiana, Kansas and Texas but never anyone from South Carolina. But there are many early Craigs that I haven't found where they went so the hunt is still on. Is your South Carolina Craig related to this line? If yes, what is their name. The closest connection I know of for Craigs with the given names you mention in SC are those who came from Ireland in 1773/74 and settled in Laurens Co., SC. 1. John Craig m Eleanor bot born Ireland ca 1730s Son 2. William Craig b 1760 Ireland m Jane Logan b SC 1769 Grandson 3. Thomas Craig b 1789 m first cousin Elizabeth Craig. All of the above buried in Duncan's Creek Baptist Church, Laurens County, SC. There are many other Craig families in SC (the majority of which came from Ireland between 1763 and 1773 - Jane Revill's book on Irish Immigrants) but not with this combination of given names per my study of the SC Craigs. God Bless. ----- Original Message ----- From: gc-gateway@rootsweb.com To: CRAIG-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Tuesday, October 23, 2007 7:52 PM Subject: Re: [CRAIG] Samuel CRAIG b. abt 1810 NJ, marries Jane HEAD This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list.
