To Lauri & Bob Lynch I am working on York Co., S.C./Mecklenburg Co., S.C. Craigs, in particular William Craig - born S.C. by 1775, died Maury Co., TN before March 30, 1830. Sons Samuel W., John Franklin and probably William Jackson; daughters Matilda, Eliza, Mary or Mariah, Jane C. & Louisa. All but William Jackson and Louisa were by first wife, Jennet Campbell, who William married in Mecklenburg in 1798. Other two children presumed to be by second wife, named "Sophia" in estate settlement papers. I think this William may have been the son of Samuel and Ann Brownfield Craig of York Co., S.C. Samuel was killed at Battle of Hanging Rock in 1780. Their land records first appear in Mecklenburg Co. - 1760s. You probably already know this - but we have more than one William Craig in early York Co./Mecklenburg Co. records. ---------- >From: Lalaz5@aol.com >To: CRAIG-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: Re: [CRAIG-L] Samuel Craig >Date: Sat, Apr 29, 2000, 11:42 AM > > Bob, > Are you positive on the Thomas, brother of Samuel information?
