    2. What is an orphan line? I haven't found anything about my Craigs on here yet but I will keep posting. I have all the information from the U.S. except for Thomas Craig who was Annie Cecilia's Craig's brother and I probably can find him in the Confederate army. I just haven't gotten to those records yet + I know he was in Louisiana. Also know Where my Craig's are from in Ireland. l832 and I have letters from my Gr.Grandmothers sister in Bushmills, Portrush, County Antrim Ireland. about l850. curious about the orphan line? Thanks Jo Johnston

    3. Jo ... in answer to your question about an orphan line.... When the folks in charge of this particular list set things up, they formed the various Craig-Lines teams for those that had a pretty well defined/researched broadly based family line. Many of us had little or no information at that time or had a very narrow and restricted line established. Those lines were referred to (lovingly) as the Orphan Lines ..... (Not referring to real orphans). As those lines became broader based and better defined they were classified as a team and a team leader designated to make sure questions/additions relative to that line were noted. Our Craig line has become much broader and well defined so I requested TEAM status and that requires a listing of the line to be posted (or linked) to our Craig homepage. Hope that answers your question about our Orphan line (soon to become a Craig-List Team) Gary D.
