Dear Lin and others with Craigs in Nebraska: I DO NOT have Nebraska Craigs, that I know of. I am excerpting here lines from an email from Elton Watlington of Memphis, re his Nebraska and Kansas Craigs. Does this fit? ________ Other Craigs moved to Summerfield, Kansas and nearby Nebraska. Would like to exchange info with you. Our lineage on my mother's side includes Craigs, Jamesons, Hale and Hammond lines, and the Watlingtons are a southern family with Tablers, Parchmans, Williams and Daniels. Most of the other northern lines are well documented New England lines. My information on the Craigs is quite limited but I have found that three of Matilda's brothers fought in the Civil War and one was killed and another reported missing and supposed dead. The brother who settled at Pawnee City, Nebraska left some genealogical information for us. My postal address is l226 South Prescott Rd., Memphis, TN 38111 Tel. 901-324-0919.Elton Watlington Mr. Watlington and I wonder if our Matilda Craig, circa 1825-death unknown, might be the same. My William Craig, brother to Matilda, (1837-1920) is strongly documented to Antrim N, Ireland>NYC>WISCONSIN>SD>Heaven. I hope this helps Mr. Watlington connect with other Craigs in Nebraska and Kansas. -----Original Message----- From: Mark & Lin Mayberry [mailto:mark&lin@tenforward.com] Sent: Wednesday, January 24, 2001 10:46 AM To: CRAIG-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [CRAIG-L] William Craig Just to add to the confusion: We, too, have a WILLIAM CRAIG b.1873 in Nebraska. Don't have the name of his wife. He is the brother of HOMER CRAIG b.1877 in Ulysses, Nebraska, my husband's great-grandfather. They, along with their siblings, are the sons of HIRAM CRAIG b.1848 in Warren County, Ohio, and LUCINDA MICK(?) b.1855? in Ohio. Looking for some connection to our Nebraska Craigs.....
