    3. I am curious about the reason for such early emigration to Canada out of N. Ireland. Was there a program like the Peterborough migration from Ireland to Ontario about that same time? I always ask this re more recent Craig emigration, were they Catholic? This questions often narrows done the possibilities for my family - Left Antrim circa 1850. -----Original Message----- From: Greg Craig [mailto:gregiren@telusplanet.net] Sent: Wednesday, January 24, 2001 10:14 PM To: CRAIG-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [CRAIG-L] HUGH CRAIG , CHARLOTTE CO. NEW BRUNSWICK Hi No , I don't think it could be , not if you are looking for someone born in 1821 . He came from ireland with his parents as a baby in 1820 . There are lots of CRAIG's in this part of N.B. but I haven't come across the name IRVIN , yet . 3. I am not really sure what the "Peterborough migration " was . However ,what I do know about this particular fellow is that he came to Canada in 1819 and his wife and child came the next year . He came with atleast one other guy as they applied for a land grant together . Land may have been the reason that they came to New Brunswick . He worked in the St. Andrew's area as a tailor , as well as a couple of his kids . According to census reports he was Episcapalion .
