Brenda: There have been CRAIGs in Laclede county, MO since about 1846-8. They came there from Maury County, TN. I have info on several Williams, but cannot specifically match yours. In any case, Laclede Co. is a good starting place. So far, all I know is what the census record for my g.g. grandma showed and that her birthplace was "Missouri". Since W.T. served in the army (from MO), there should be a pension record for him and that might give a county or twp. But he was a Conf.--and I guess I need to write someone in Missouri to get his records (instead of the National Archives). Since he died in Ark, would his military record show up in MO or AR? Our Craigs were Irish, but we don't know how much Irish and how far back. THAT's one of the reasons I'm searching... There was some kind of tragedy that may have led to W.T.'s girls being put into a Catholic Church in Indian Territory; at least, that's what the rumor is. Connie did marry early--16-yrs-old. If we have ties to any other states besides AR>OK>MO>TN-KY, I'm unaware of them. All I know is that searching for my CRAIGS has turned from a challenge to a real pain...But I'd like to know what happened to Connie's mother and who she was. At least! >From: "Marybeth Shea" <mbshea@toad.net> >Reply-To: CRAIG-L@rootsweb.com >To: CRAIG-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: RE: [CRAIG-L] STOP!! >Date: Mon, 22 Jan 2001 18:24:47 -0500 > >Brenda, > >What county in MO?
