    3. Dear Greg, Thank you for your response. The Peterborough migration paid for the migration of Irish families to Canada in 1823 and 1825. I do not think that I have a direct ancestor in either wave, and if so, the name would be Tobin from Wexford. I know that these settlements "inspired" many people to try Canada. I have evidence that a collateral family did end up near one of the groups, although it is not clear if they emigrated in either of 1823 or 1825 movements. Of course, once a pattern emerges, others follow! It looks as if your valiant Craig preceded this early movement! You can look at this website for more information on Peterborough: http://www.kawartha.net/~jleonard/robinson.htm Good luck to us both -----Original Message----- From: Greg Craig [mailto:gregiren@telusplanet.net] Sent: Thursday, January 25, 2001 2:43 PM To: CRAIG-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [CRAIG-L] HUGH CRAIG , CHARLOTTE CO. NEW BRUNSWICK I am not really sure what the "Peterborough migration " was . However ,what I do know about this particular fellow is that he came to Canada in 1819 and his wife and child came the next year . He came with atleast one other guy as they applied for a land grant together . Land may have been the reason that they came to New Brunswick . He worked in the St. Andrew's area as a tailor , as well as a couple of his kids . According to census reports he was Episcapalion .
