    3. Hi On 11th August 1923, James Craig, then aged 42 (born 1878 in Beith), set sail from Liverpool for Halifax, Canada on the Cunard ship ‘Caronia.’ In all records I’ve found of him his occupation is given as shipwright, but under the “rank, profession or calling of passengers” column in the ship’s record, his is given as ‘harvester’ – as were all the other men on the ship - all were aged between 20 – 50. His address was given as 59 Ardgowan Street, Port Glasgow. A bit of cursory research on the internet revealed that harvest time was August – end October, and 1923 saw peak numbers of harvesters recruited by the Canadian Pacific Railway from Canada, the US & Britain. We have no idea where he went after landing in Halifax. If anyone has any information about James Craig, or any ideas as to how I might go about researching what happened to him next, I would be very grateful! Many thanks Liz Jones
