Mary Ellen, My George Washington Craig was born 1847ish in Portsmouth, Ohio. His daughter, Mary Craig, was born January 22, 1877, in San Francisco, California, and moved to Fort Vancouver, Washington, when she was 3 years old. She was born while G.W. was on the Nez Perce Campaign chasing Chief Joseph. He died while on the campaign, but was not killed in battle. Cause of his death is unknown. George's wife was Rosetta or Rosette Dever, who was born in Londonderry, Ireland, on October 31, 1853.
