Bill- As usual you have come through admirably. Do you know where I could get a copy of that lawsuit? Does the county keep those things? I have another question: You referred to Capt. John Craig (father of John Hawkins Craig). Isn't Captain John Craig's middle name Hawkins??? Thanks again. Cassie
Judy Cato says Capt. John Craig's grandson Lewis Young Craig had a bible which said his grandfather's name was John Hawkins Craig. This is the only source I've heard of for this. I think in his time he was always "Capt. John Craig" or "John Craig" and his son was distinguished by being called "John Hawkins Craig" or "John H. Craig." This is how they were treated in a genealogy kept by Capt. John Craig's nephew Lewis Sanders, and in Katherine Miller Craig's materials, and everything else I've seen. To start calling him John Hawkins Craig confuses things, I think. Bill Davis wmadavis@kih.net **************************************************************** * * * Fax (978)334-7850 * P.O.
