    3. My Elizabeth was born in 1826 , either in Ireland or in New Brunswick , her parents were definitely Irish though . I can't say anything for sure about my John Craig , I only confirmed him a year ago through a marriage record and a baptismal record for his son . I don't know if he was Scottish , Irish or Canadian . Unfortunately John Craig is like the "Smith" of Craigs. Everyone has" umpteen" John's in their family . Thanks for your response . 1. Re: [CRAIG-L] Orphan Line Question
    2. Gary Craig
    3. Jo ... in answer to your question about an orphan line.... When the folks in charge of this particular list set things up, they formed the various Craig-Lines teams for those that had a pretty well defined/researched broadly based family line. Many of us had little or no information at that time or had a very narrow and restricted line established. Those lines were referred to (lovingly) as the Orphan Lines ..... (Not referring to real orphans). As those lines became broader based and better defined they were classified as a team and a team leader designated to make sure questions/additions relative to that line were noted. Our Craig line has become much broader and well defined so I requested TEAM status and that requires a listing of the line to be posted (or linked) to our Craig homepage. Hope that answers your question about our Orphan line (soon to become a Craig-List Team) Gary D. 2. Greg Craig
    3. I thought I'd try one last time as I'll be moving to Alberta soon, to find any Craig's that may have come from St. Andrew's , New Brunswick . There seems to have been two main Craig families from the St. Andrew's area . One is descended from the Loyalist David Craig and the other is from an Irish immigrant in 1819 , Hugh Craig . Of course the the children-g-children intermarried , just to help confuse any of us trying to do genealogy I believe . The earliest g-g-g-grandfather that I can confirm is a John Craig who married an Elizabeth Kerr in 1848 . I'm stuck at this point and don't know which family that he might fit in with .They had a son in 1849 but the father had died by then or shortly after. Their son was John Hugh Craig , I thought his middle name was a good clue that his grandfather must have been the Hugh Craig , however , I have also found a different John Hugh Craig that was born a few years after my guy and died in the 1860's as a child . The second John Hugh was born into one of the mixed Craig families so I'm not sure who they are naming their kids after . Maybe they were naming them after the first John , who died in 1848 , because of some relationship with him . Any help would certainly be appreciated . Greg Craig

    3. Judith, John and other interested in the house.;Good work on some key items ... I checked under heavy magnification ... the siding IS shake shingles. That strange roof line is still a key ... The asphalt shingle roofing (and shake siding) looks in very good (new) condition. And Philly and the like in the East are good possibilities .... That big tree in the back could have been planted with the house but its size indicates 60 to 100 years old (or there about) so it may have been older and left there when the house was built... No way of telling ... The roof line and the shake siding (and it could very well be green) are the keys .... the sharp angle of the roof indicates heavier snow areas ...... good sleuthing Gary D.
