    3. Does anyone have a Malinda Craig b 2/1/1869 d 10/22/1894? I know she is from the Craig/Mackey line but Im not sure how. Family remebers reference to a Grandma Nancy Mackey. What generation of Grandmother were not sure. They think she owned a plantation in Mound City Missouri. We also know that Malinda Craig's (1869) father was a John Craig. But there are many John Craigs out there. Family legend is that he married two sisters (possibly an Elizabeth and Malinda). John had a daughter with one sister in 1869 Malinda Craig. With the other sister he had three children: Nancy Elvira Craig, Will Craig and Newt Craig. Here are the facts that I have confirmed: Malinda Craig b 2/1/1869 m Ira Cook 7/4/1886. Ira and Malinda Craig Cook had John David Cook b 1887 in (?Brown County) Kansas, Samuel Mortica Cook b 1889 in (?Brown County) Kansas and William Cook b 1892 in (?Brown County) Kansas. Malinda Craig Cook d 10/22/1894 in Richardson County Nebraska and was burried in Brown County Kansas. Her tombstone read Sister Malinda Cook. Ira was later found on the 1900 Brown County Kansas Census with his sons. Not found again. I know that the Craigs were from Missouri. Holt and Pike Countys are referred to alot. Since Malinda Cooks tombstone read Sister Malinda Cook I am under the impression that her Craig family burried her rather than her husband. Does anyone know of any Craigs that lived in the Brown County area? Can anyone help me with this line? Thankyou Paula

    3. Can anyone identify the following CRAIGs mentioned in CHALKLEY'S CHRONICLES? Also, does anyone know the relationship of Margaret PAUL to the CRAIG family? She was a wife of Oliver ALEXANDER, born circa 1732. Could Margaret have been born a CRAIG and married a PAUL before she married Oliver? Does anyone know anything about a Jeremiah CRAIG, born in the early 1700s and the names of his children? Thank you. 2. Hi everyone, I am new to the CRAIG list and I hope someone can help as I am really stumped. I am looking for anyone who might have information on my grandfather Myles/Miles Phillip CRAIG. The only information that I have for him is that he was born Abt. 1911 and died November 1979. He married Fern Lucy Mean, the daughter of William MEAN of Carleton County. They had 4 children Avis, Alta, Barbara, and Gary and raised them in "Bull Lake" and then Woodstock, NB. Myles/Miles had 4 brothers that I know of: Ted CRAIG, Norman CRAIG, Earl CRAIG, and Basil CRAIG. Any information would be appreciated. Thank You in advance. Tina

    3. Ron....thank you for the kind words. There is going to be a TON of new stuff going up on the page when Amanda digs in. Nothing has gone up for a year and you all are chomping on the bit to get all of you new stuff up.....and I don't blame you. When all of the new information is up on the page.....there are going to be a bunch of you that are going to jump up and shout, because everytime the page has been updated cousins have found cousins. Amanda and I are REALLY anxious to get this done. I know that John is sitting there with pages and pages of new stuff and addition....and some corrections....for Team 1...the terrible Taliaferros. It has been a rough, rough last one year for this family.....but, here's hoping that a little bit of the mayhem will slow down. I really miss the companionship of the list and the mental stimulation. So, everyone cross your fingers and hope nothing blows Amanda's week with the CRAIG page up!!!!! :-)) ..........Judy *********************************************************** cato@primary.net ***********************************************************

Would someone please instruct me on how to do that? Thanks! Anita Tally Missouri<< Hello Anita, Amanda has not had a chance to update the Craig Homepage since last year. This is really regrettable, but honestly just cannot be helped at the moment. There are just times in a family's life that family genealogy has to take a back seat to family business. I don't necessarily agree with this (hahahahahaha), but this is what has happened to us.....life...... Amanda is taking a week off from work late this month....I am not going to call it a vacation, because she is going to call for all of your updates and then she will spend that full week trying to clean them up, put them in a format that can be uploaded and then get them onto the Craig page. So.....everyone start getting your work ready. Go to the Craig page. Look at the format that the genealogies are presented in and try to get your information cleaned up and ready to email to Amanda. So, start getting ready. Amanda will put out a general call to the list. Thank you everyone for your patience. We have had one or two folks who got a bit miffed that some of their work did not get put up in a timely fashion.....and I apologize. What everyone has to remember is that the Craig Page is a volunteer labor of love.....and a very time consuming one. I surely do hope that I am going to be able to get back and involved in the list sometime in the near future instead of just reading about all of the "happy hunting" you all are doing. Hang in there......progress is on the way.......Judy *********************************************************** cato@primary.net ***********************************************************

    2. John, After reading that at the bottom of some of the e-mail on AOL I went to that web site. It looks like a pretense to me unless I don't know how to read very well. I don't see that there is anything FREE in the whole thing. If anything it seems like a false advertisement. IF I subscribe for a year I get a month free. If you can make better sense of it, please tell me. I told my husband what I found, and was kind of disappointed in this company for leading me on. Melanie

    1. [CRAIG-L] The Elusive Ancestor

    3. How many of us can relate to this???? ~Jessy The Elusive Ancestor by Merrell Kenworthy I went searching for an ancestor, I cannot find him still. He moved around from place to place and did not leave a will. He married where a courthouse burned. He mended all his fences. And avoided any man who came to take the U.S. Census He always kept his luggage packed, this man who had no fame, And every 20 years or so, this rascal changed his name. His parents came from Europe. They should be on some list of passengers to the U.S.A., but somehow they got missed. And no one else in this whole world is searching for this man. So, I play geneasolitaire to find him if I can. I'm told he's buried in a plot, with tombstone he was blessed; but weather took engraving, and some vandals took the rest. He died before the county clerk decided to keep records. No Family Bible has emerged, in spite of all my efforts, To top it off, this ancestor, who caused me many groans, just to give me one more pain betrothed a girl named Jones.
