    3. I think the Larkin Craig who was in Scott County would be in Callaway County, Missouri after 1828 or so. He was the son of Toliver Craig III. U of Ky Special Collections had an old manuscript involving Larkin Craig. I think it was an old record of accounts, which also had some genealogical notes in it. 2. I thought this was cute! Relatively Speaking: When marriage is outlawed only outlaws will have in-laws. When you marry, your family tree can become a forest. To a genealogist Everything is relative. 50% of my forefathers were female. Of course, a miser is hard to live with, but he sure makes a fine ancestor. CAn a first cousin, once removed, return? Add to your genealogy the fun easy way. Have grandchildren. He ain't heavy--he's my brother's aunt's sister's husband. Heredity: Everyone believes in it until their children act like fools. After 30 days unclaimed ancestors will be adopted. Any family tree produces some lemons, nuts and bad apples. My problems are all relative. At last a chance to make my skeletons dance! I think my family tree is a few branches short of full bloom! Author unknown.

    3. Ken, I have records of a Robert Craig who was born or christened in Liverpool 6th November 1849 son of Robert Craig and Margaret Parker. Margaret Parker was from Anstruther Scotland and Robert Craig Senior was from Wick,Scotland. I note that your Robert was born 1848 not 1849 as my Robert. What record have you got. I am new to this list and have turned here as a bit of a last resort. This is a long shot but I must try. My g-grandfather on my father's side was a fellow named George Henry CRAIG. Interestingly enough, after having searched this list, I have found several, all dating earlier but indicating a possible onomastic tradition. This is what I have on my George Henry: Born ca. 1872 in Earlstown, Lancashire, England. He married Josephine Margaret Lord Feb. 13, 1892. They settled in the town of Lancaster and had six daughters. Georges occupation is given as "cabinetmaker" but somehow or other my father was under the impression that he was some kind of structural engineer.Georges siblings were Ada, Minie, and John. George Henry's father was Robert CRAIG, b. July 3, 1848 in Liverpool. Date of death unknown. Robert's father's name was James CRAIG dob. unk. Here's my quandary: George apparently left his family for America sometime after the birth of his daughter Gwendoline in 1904. I would love to know just what hapened to him. Any information and/or leads would be much appreciated. Thanks. 3. It sound like there must have been a Curtis family connection in the past. I know that Craig and Curtis families lived close together in the 19th century in what is now Pleasants County, WV. St. Marys is the county seat. The county is on the Ohio River and westward migration to Illinois was a natural migration route. I have some Curtis family connections but I haven't seen any Craig connection yet. I have not done much work on that line. 1. [CRAIG-L] James Craig's daughters
    2. Barbara
    3. The HISTORY OF KNOX COUNTY, OHIO by Hill states that James Craig had 8 daughters. Census records seem to support this statement. My ancestor Maria Craig (b ca. 1800, m Dec. 3, 1816 to John Strain (Strean)) I have followed to Iowa where she died. I recently found a second daughter hidden in the Knox County History--Abigail White Craig who married Harris Cotton, Jr. A search of microfilm records for Knox County (LDS) produced an entry concerning appointment of a guardian for children of Mary Jeffery in connection with the estate of Esther Craig (James wife as shown in land records) and would suggest that there was a daughter Mary. There was a Malinda Craig who married Thomas Larason, but I cannot find anything to connect Malinda with my James Craig. I have contacted the Probate Court in both Knox County and Coshocton County since James Craig had property in those counties, but neither court had any probate record which would give the names of the other daughters. Does anyone have additional information on any of these women? Barbara in Kansas
