Who are you interested in? I need to know who your grandparents were.
I am Sandra Kathleen Craig. My father was William Allen Craig and his father was William Valentine Craig of Birmingham, Alabama. My grandfather married Mary Alice Wood(Craig). Vaguely I remember my father talking about my grandfather having brothers......he died when Daddy was 6--1926....from a heart attack. Daddy was the only natural child and had an adopted brother, Robert. My grandmother died long before I was born and no one seems to know anything about my father's family. As I understand it, they come from the Barclay/Craig line. That's all I really know so far.....I did geneology.com and traced my history somewhat....but there are a lot of blanks. Any information would be appreciated....from what I found the family came here from Scotland to PA......Does anyone have further information on some Craigs choosing to join Native American tribes? ===== Sandi Craig "If you can't be with the one you love....fill in the blanks" __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Sharon, your post has greatly intrigued me! Is there any way that you can scan the map? or is posted somewhere on the 'net? I descend from Wm CRAIG (b. Scotland>Antrim Ireland> PA>VA) m. Would greatly appreciate any information that you are willing to share.
I have noteswhidch reference Tinkling Spring. It was the name of one of the Churches of John Craig. My notes are as follows: "Notes on Orange Co VA searches for Rev John Craig. I am still working on the Rev. John Craig. He apparently was "settled" near Staunton, Va., in Augusta County from 1740-1747 where he ministered to two churches, Tinkling Spring and Augusta Stone. Trickling Spring is located at the juncture of rte 608 and rte 64 about 7 miles S. of Staunton, and Augusta Stone was 9 miles N. of Staunton on rte 11, at Goose Creek. The site N. of Staunton would have been above Middle River and about 4 miles S. of Ft. Defiance. Anyway, the 1740-47 dates are "our critical times" and a search at Augusta Co. would probably be profitable relative to Rev John Craig. Rte 11 closely approximates the old Wagon Road at many places so there is that reason. too. Just where he lived would be conjecture. He ministered to both churches simultaneously. It was said that he was the first "settled" Presb. Minister in the colonies." There is a sort of "museum" of John Craig at one of those churches which still exists. They have John's genealogy there. We viasited it. John has several properties in the area. Regards, Ira Helms

I have a separate file for you if you want to give me your direct address. Not much luck with the Plott family line so looked at Anny under Joseph Harvey and pulled up thousands. I had time so looked further. Joseph Harvey was a common English and French name in Europe and Canada. Big families were normal. But, found his wife, Anny with 11 daughters but they only listed the one son Joseph Harvey, Jr. Let's see if it pastes.
