I have found Lydia A. Craig as an inmate in the Brethren Home in Monroe Twp. She was the daughter of James N. Craig and Lucy Ann Newton. I know from family lore that Lucy Newton had a sister Mary Jane Newton. James N. Craig had a brother Joseph Craig. Joseph and Mary Jane married so that brothers married sisters. My line is through Joseph; he and Mary Jane were married in 1856. They were in the 1860 census in Preble Co., OH but later moved away. Family has told that it was to Dearborn Co., IN where he died about 1861. There have been no leads as to his birth date, place, or parents. I was hoping that this lead of his niece (Lydia through his brother James N.) might provide some information. I have found that Lydia was buried in the Maple Lawn Cemetery in Monroe Twp., Carroll Co., IN after she died on Oct. 15, 1937. There are more Craigs in that cemetery, but I don't know anything about them. I was hoping they w! ould be related in some way. If you have any leads to help me, I would appreciate anything! Thanks.

Who knows they might of been related since they were both in Craighead County but maybe there were more Craig's there then I realized. I don't have access to the census so I don't know how many Craig families there were there at that time.

    3. I have been searching for information on the family of Moses Craig. I believe he may have come from Tyrone Co. in Northern Ireland. However, I have no information to back that up. Strangely his son, William Francis Craig, who was born in Philadelphia, PA USA ended up living in Tyrone, Monroe County, Iowa. There were many Craigs in that town. There was a John Craig who came from Tyrone, Ireland. We think he may have been the brother of Moses. John was born in 1818. Moses would have been born about 1825. Craig Married Lucy Addison(Woodard) on Feb. 14th 1919. I am not sure what the W. stands for but I know that the C stands for Clarence. That is what my mother knew her grandfather by was Clarence Craig. Lucy was married once before. He was 28 years old when he married my great grandmother. If this is the same one please let me know. Any help would be appreciated.
