Craig who married a Martha Brown. I don't know what the W. stood for nor what the M. stood for. I am just trying to find my Great- Grandmther, Martha Brown and although you say Catherine Brown, I think this might be it. Do you know where the marriage to Catherine Brown took place? This marriage was supposed to have taken place in 1911. Please reply even if you don't think this is mine so I'll know this is not the one. Thanks. JoAn

There is probably no connection here, but a lot of names used were the same. My g-gf was Samuel Wallace Craig, raised his family in Pike County, IL, not too near Johnson county. His first son was named William Craig (b. 22 Aug 1842). My grandfather was named Wallace Hardin Craig (b. 26 Jun 1863). My father was named Arthur G. Craig (b. 27 Sept 1895), another of Wallace's sons was named Clarence (b. 3 Oct 1889). Samuel Craig was born in 1814 in Pennsylvania, moved to Illinois probably in the late 1830's. Probably had siblings in the area, but I have not been able to identify any for sure.
