    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: CRAIG, HILLIARD Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/4IQ.2ACEB/2356 Message Board Post: Interested in any Craig families who have roots in Morgan and Belmont Counties, OHIO. During the 1850 my gg-grandfather Thomas CRAIG (b. about 1825) and his family were living 2 homes away from William (b. about 1803) and Mary Craig family in Homer Township, Morgan County, Ohio. I don't know if it's a coincidence or whether they were related. Census indicated both were born in Pennsylvania. Thomas and his wife Nancy Jane (HILLIARD) had been married in Belmont County. I'd be interested in families who lived in, or migrated to, this area and might have a connection to either of these families.

Surnames: Craig, Reid, Hume Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/4IQ.2ACEB/1961.2 Message Board Post: Thomas Craig (1819-1903) married Margaret Reid (1820-1913) in England in 1843. The family moved to New Brunswick. They had a daughter named Ester in 1844. Ester married Samuel Craig in 1864 (I think they were first cousins because James Craig and Mary Hume had a son named Samuel that married an Ester. James and Thomas were the sons of Thomas Craig and Margaret Patterson.) Ester and Samuel had Robert and James. I don't know any information about the other children of Thomas and Margaret. Hopefully this will help a little in your search. Any further information you can provide will be helpful to me also.

    1. [CRAIG-L] Elijah Craig Bread Pudding!
    2. Well folks, it looks like the Craig forum has been quiet. It's always that way this time of the year, everybody shopping, cooking, etc. About this time of year I always crave some bread pudding. ( I make a batch and give it away to folk along with a sheet describing Elijah Craig and my relationship to him) It's just a show-off thing! I have shared the recipe on-line in the past and it seems each year somebody likes it. Rather than type the whole thing in again, I Googlized it and found it is still hanging around cyberspace. Location is: http://newsarch.rootsweb.com/th/read/NewBrunswick/2000-11/0975162817 Its titled "Bread Pudding with Elijah Craig Recipe" Actually the title should be "Bread Pudding with Elijah Craig Whisky Sauce" to be exact. Here's wishing all Craig relatives a Merry Christmas and a Happy 2004! Ron Gollberg, Descendant of Talliferro "Toliver" Craig/Mary Hawkins, Elijah is my 5th Great Uncle!

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Craig Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/4IQ.2ACEB/2212.3 Message Board Post: Another happy ending! We were contacted by Volena Cofer's niece in August 2003, who put us in touch with Volena and her daughter Wanda Lilligren. Volena had married a gentleman named Swofford (now deceased), and still lived in Springfield, OR (near Eugene), near the site of the former Mohawk school where the quilt was made. We attended a meeting of the local historical society, where we gave a talk on the quilt, and the story of tracking down its history. After the presentation, Volena had the quilt on her lap for the rest of the meeting, and people came up to view it more closely. We met a sister of another of the original quilter's there. Her sister was deceased, but she was glad to see the quilt and her sister's block. Many of the attendees had attended or had family members or friends at Mohawk, and reminiscences were given. Volena was going in for an operation shortly after, so we left the quilt with her for "good luck". (She came through well, and is now recovered.) Her daughter later purchased the quilt for her as a surprise gift, and Volena will be leaving it as an heirloom for the family.

    1. [CRAIG-L] Old Craig Bible found in Texas
    2. charles loeffler
    3. Have old Bible found in closet of a church parsonage in Junction, Texas. Inside page reads: Mrs. Mollie Criag from Hattie Craig, Dec 24, 1907 There is no page where one could record family births, deaths, marriages, etc. Several old undated newspaper clippings in the Bible such as: 1. Craig-McLendon wedding, M. L. Craig and Miss Virginia McLendon were married on Sunday. No date given, but many details of the wedding. 2. Entertains for Bride-Elect, Honoring Miss Virginia McLendon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. McLendon of Houston, whose marriage to M. L. Craig of Dallas will take place here Sunday evening at Grace Methodist Church. 3. Died (My Papa). At his residence in Hamilton, Mr. A. J. Jones, formerly of Hunt County. He was about 51 years of age and was a relative of Mr. Miller, the blacksmith. Will be glad to mail this Bible to anyone who writes and convinces me that they are related to this family.
