Need to find parents of JEREMIAH COX, born in Washington Co. MD, 5 May 1789. Believe to have had several older siblings ? At 6 months of age the Cox family moved to Grayson Co. KY. Jeremiah remained there for 38 years. Served in KY House of Representatives, 1824-1825 Married 1st. Harriet Briscoe, 2 children. And 2nd. Margaret Yates, 10 children. In 1828, the family moved to Jacksonville, IL, where he died, 3 Dec 1862. He had 1 known brother who lived nearby in Morgan Co. IL, named Charles Cox who married Rachel Craig in Grayson Co. KY and had family of 7 children and later moved to Hancock Co. IL. Because of courthouse fire in Grayson Co KY, records leading to his parents were destroyed!
