Dear Elena, I am also looking for Cowans in that time period. The earliest one I have is Hugh Cowan who married Margaret Buchanan in Bourbon Co., KY in 1794. I am looking for his father who would probably be about Robert's age. Can you give any other info like any linage or where they were or went to in early 1800's.
