I recently acquired a transcript of all the graves in the Old Kirkyard, Wigtown, Wigtownshire, Scotland. This one caught my eye because it connects to a COWAN who immigrated to the U.S. Knowing that many of you are researching in the U.S., perhaps this may be of some help: Monument Inscription 67 "Erected by Agnes COWAN & Margaret McDOWALL in memory of their mother Rosana THOMPSON relict of John COWAN, late in Blairs, Parish of Kirkmabrick, who died 11th Jany 1831 aged 64 years Also their brother John T.
