NC, Gunsmith - 3 slaves Mary Turner - 37, F, NC (X) [over 21 and illiterate] Sarah J. - 11, F, NC, School Doctor M. - 10 M, NC, School Isaac - 7, M, NC, School Mary E. - 6, F. NC Wilson - 3, M, NC John - 1, F, NC The birth dates that I have in my research are: 25 December 1812 25 January 1814 The death date is given as 14 February 1871 I just have trouble believing that he on was born on Christmas and died on Valentine's Day some 508 years later. In August of 1850, either date would have passed his birthday so the age of 37 given as of 30 August 1850 being 37 means that who ever gave the census information thought that Zephaniah was born in 1813!!!! Also from Marriages of Rowan County, North Carolina (1753-1868) picked up the marriage bond date of 05 Sep 1837 and not May 04, 1837 so if it is different in your database, please make the change.
