Interesting note - we know that Isaac Cowan whose will is on pages 76-78 of Cowans From County Down (CCD) is the son of Henry Cowan and the Grandson of Immigrant John, but we are not give a detailed account of his family. I first became interested in this family as a result of the marriage of daughter, Mary Sarah Cowan to Zepheniah Turner. One of my other surnames in Rowan County and Iredell County, North Carolina happens to be Turner. I take spells where I will look to see what lines appear to be running around together which often helps to explain how my relative may have met the person he married. This has proved to be helpful. I often work on the theory that there were not a lot of families during the mid 1700's. Back to the subject - Fleming more or less does not go into detail on any of Henry Cowan's children except for Robert. Several years ago I was given information on the Turner line and in that info there was interesting details on the Cowan line. The Will of Isaac Cowan does name all of his children and gives us a lot of details. They just die right there and Fleming goes onto another will of the sons of Henry Cowan. 1. ISAAC4 COWAN (HENRY3, JOHN2, ?1)1 was born 17762, and died May 1851 in Rowan Co, NC2. He married JANE SWAN3 09 September 1812 in Rowan Co., NC4, daughter of CHARLES SWAN. This line is discussed in great detail on page 123 of CCD. Fleming just says that she is the daughter of Isaac Cowan, but does not reference the reader back to page 76 so that we are linked to the correct family. 2. ii. Just thought that it might help to connect the Issac Cowan page 76 to child on page 123.
