It was brought to my attention that I had the date for Isaac Cowan given in a very interesting format!!! It should have read 1776 not 17762. <g> The 2 is a source number or something that the program I took the information from added and I just did not take the time to clean them out. HOWEVER, from the census records in 1850, he is 52 years old so this makes him born around 1798. I am going to change my date to about 1798 and use the 1850 census for my source, Dwelling 827, Family 844. See this info below. As I was re-reading my post, I noticed that I could have given you a little more information. Some of this information still needs to be checked for it was from one of the FTM CD's. Broderbund Software, Inc., World Family Tree Vol. 2, Ed. 1, Release date: November 29, 1995, Tree #5537 Then a lot was from Cowans From County Down by John Kerr Fleming that in the early source reporting days, I did not include the page numbers or did not source with the understanding in my research that if there was no source that it came from CCD. The second, Joseph Thompson is possibly a re-name since there is another Joseph Thompson age 16 with his parents. Margaret Maria Thompson was born in 1847 and is not listed above with her other family members nor is she listed not with her parents in Dwelling 831, Family 848. This would be under head of household, Thomas L. Thompson. Maybe she was asleep in her crib and was forgotten about. She is not dead for in 1867 she marries Robert Wilson. 1850 Rowan County, North Carolina Federal Census Roll 643, Pages 160 - 161 - School District #10, 30 August 1850 Dwelling 771, Family 788 Zepheniah Turner - 37, M. Census has it spelled as Zepheniah. I do not know which is correct. <g> *---*---*---*---*---*---*---*---*---*---*---*---*---*---*---*---* Laura Cowan Cooper [email protected] *---*---*---*---*---*---*---*---*---*---*---*---*---*---*---*---*
