My grandfather, Thomas Cowan (no middle name), was born in Puslinch, Wellington Co., Ontario, Canada. He died 16 Jun 1970 in Seattle, and is buried there. He is the son of Walter Scott Cowan and Annie McPherson. My *goodness*, I miss him! His grandfather came as a boy from Selkirkshire, Scotland with his father, step-mother and brother. Grampa married my grandmother, Elsie Schell 1904-1986, on 21 Mar 1925 in Seattle. She was the daughter of Charles F. Schell (Käll in Sweden) and Selma Christine Anderson (Andersdotter in Sweden), and was born in Duluth, St. Louis Co, MN USA. I wonder if our Thomases had any common forebears?
