Hello. Just an FYI. This database has just been mounted by the Illinois State Archives. A lot of Cowans have died in this state between 1916 and 1951. Peace to you all. The Illinois Statewide Death Index (1916-1951) is now available on the Illinois State Archives Web site. A customized online death certificate request form is also available. Requests for death certificates from 1916 to 1947 will be directed to the Illinois State Archives Reference Unit. Requests for death certificates after 1947 should be referred to the Illinois Department of Public Health.
