William Riley COWAN was born on 6 Oct 1828, m. Zillah Louisa MABRAY 14 Dec 1847, had eight children and lived and worked a farm (in Spadra) near Clarksville, Johnson Co., AR. He died of small pox on 28 May 1865, while serving in the Civil War. He was a very close friend and neighbor to Philip MABRAY (brother of Zillah) who died 24 Oct 1861, cause unknown. After searching fruitlessly for the grave of Philip MABRAY for many years it suddenly dawned on me that his good friend and neighbor Wm. COWAN is perhaps buried in the same cemetery, as they both died on land adjoining one another in Spadra, just three and a half years apart. Does anyone know where William Riley COWAN rests??????? Thanks.
