He had an estate probated on May 10, 1786 in Salsbury Twp, Lancaster Co, Pennsylvania. m. Hannah ______ Will date & location in October 1816 in Will Book 5, page 316. She died in Mercer Co, Kentucky. David Cowan and Hannah ______ had the following children: I. Colonel John Cowan was born in 1748. He was living on June 22, 1786 in Lincoln Co, Kentucky. He signed a will on May 28, 1819 in Mercer Co, Kentucky. He died on January 5, 1823 in Mercer Co, Kentucky. He was buried in Bellevue Cemetery, Danville, Boyle Co, Kentucky. Colonel John Cowan was married to Mary Craig (daughter of John Craig (Immigrant) and Sarah Unknown) on September 11, 1781 in Rockingham Co, Virginia. Mary Craig was born in 1748. She was living on June 22, 1786 in Lincoln Co, Kentucky. She died on January 29, 1837. She was buried in Bellevue Cemetery, Danville. Boyle Co, Kentucky. Colonel John Cowan and Mary Craig had the following children: A. James Cowan Will date & location in December 1781 in Vol. 42, page 12, #138, Fayette Co, Kentucky. He was living on September 17, 1811 in Danvile, Kentucky. He was a Counselor at Law on June 4, 1821 in Lexington, Kentucky. He died before December 5, 1833 in Fayette County, Kentucky. B. John Cowan. C. William C. Cowan was born about 1794. He died on November 27, 1837. He was buried in Bellevue Cemetery, Danville, Boyle Co, Kentucky. D. Henry J. Cowan was born on September 5, 1795. He died on October 9, 1851. He was buried in Bellevue Cemetery, Danville, Boyle Co, Kentucky. E. David G. Cowan. F. Elizabeth (Betsy?) Cowan. G. Mary Fleming Cowan. H. Sarah (Sally) Cowan died in before her brother James. I. Elizabeth Cowan was born in Boyle Co, Kentucky. II. Jared Cowan had an estate probated on September 14, 1785 in Mercer Co, Kentucky. He died in 1795 in Mercer Co, Kentucky. He had an estate probated in December 1795 in Inventory at Mercer Co, Kentucky. He had an estate probated in March 1796 in Inventory. Jared Cowan was married to Mary/Margaret Caldwell (daughter of George Caldwell and Isbel ________) on July 23, 1788 in Mercer Co, Kentucky.
