Jerry, That post was magnificant!!!!! Do you not see what I see?? "Our venerable uncle" Joseph Walker. That would mean the Rev. John Campbell was the son of Elizabeth Walker who married guess who, JOHN CAMPBELL from guess where, KERNAN in Ireland. The good Reverend just happens to have the obit and even the words to the song's sung at the funeral and a little inside info that Joseph Walker was born near Londonderry. This information was 1806 which predates everybody!! and frankly is stunning since it ties Down and Derry together. On top of that throw in Forrest's cavalry which is about as close a Cowan connection as possible since my good uncle Dr. James B. Cowan was Forrest's chief surgeon and wrote that Samuel Cowan was from Londonderry and now things are starting to take shape. We will definitly have things to look for on our trip previously not imagined. Now, Jerry if you would be so kind as to provide the TOWNLAND of young Joseph Walkers birth I would be in your debt. Regards, Robert Cowan On the Right Road
