Has there been any determination from which line Ned Cowan (abt 1777-1855) comes? I have two Cwan lines in my family and would like to know if there is an earlier connection. generations are: Ned Cowan m unknown Mattew Cowan m Catherine Trousdale Elizabeth M. Cowan m John Trousdale, Jr. Matthew Cowan Trousdale m Louisa Bush Malissia Lee Trousdale m 1872 Robert Jackson Cowan Leona Cowan m Jerry Clements Dillard (my grandparents) Robert Jackson Cowan comes from the James Cowan Hannah Woods line. Sure would like to know if there is another connection. We have DNA in the family on the Robert Jackson line through his brother James W. Cowan but I know nothing about the Ned Cowan line. However you can add a Cowan merger for sure between the lines beginning in 1873 when my grandmother was born in Bell County, Texas. Jody Dillard
