William Cowan, ca. 1734 Lancaster Co., PA - 1789 Wilkes Co., GA; married Sarah Stewart 1759 (NOTE: this contradicts a previous post which has a William Cowin, b. 1727 as son of John and Elizabeth Cowan. That particular family moved to OH. However, DNA confirms both research and family tradition that the William Cowan who married Sarah Stewart in NC was the son of John and Elizabeth Cowan). 3.
