That might be our William or W. A. Was he born North Carolina, 1855/56/57 with a brother Thomas in OK from census records 1890-1920? Parents of our W. A. and Thomas were Joseph Cowan 1825-1907 and Mary Malinda (Long) Cowan who died 1857. W. A. was her youngest child.They also had a brother John Cowan in Bowie County, TX. An older sister, Susan remained in NC, married Isaac Newton Biggerstaff, had two sons and two daus. After Mary Malinda died, Joseph married again in 1862, Margaret Street who would have been their step-mother. Does anything sound familiar?
