Cowan A life time resident of Bourbon County [Kansas], Charles Edwin Cowan, 84, Uniontown, died at 6:15 a.m. today [June 1, 1967] at Mercy Hospital. The son of Edwin Henry and Elizabeth Johnson Cowan was born April 30, 1883. His marriage to Sarah Ann Vanlandingham took place Sept. 15, 1908, at Uniontown. She preceeded him in death in 1965. Mr. Cowan operated a hardware store for about ten years in Uniontown and later farmed until his retirement. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Ivan (Shirley) Bollinger and Mrs. Herman (Alice) Ramsey, Uniontown; Mrs. Edna Turner, Everett, Wash.; and Mrs. Louis (Lois) Ainsworth, Canby, Ore.; two sons, Jim of Fort Scott, and Robert of Seattle, Wash.; 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Earl's Memorial Home.
