My Hugh Cowan came over somewhere between 1765 and 1794 when we have his proof of a marriage to Margaret Buchanan in Bourbon Co., Kentucky in the Archives in Franklin, KY. My cencus records follow him thru 1830, & I believe he came to Ripley Co., IN. and died in 1838 at the poor farm with his wife.
