NC. We had believed he was the son of a Joseph Cowan and wife unknown..but some how the Bowman/Bowen family has something to to do with the family. A William Bowen sold 64 acres of land to Joseph Cowen, recorded Burke Co.1808. Source: Copied from Microfilm, Burke Co. Records , The 64 acres came from a 200 acres he owned before selling. Later a Jean/Jane Bowen Wd. is listed on a Burke Co. tax list next to Joseph Cowen as owning 134acres the remaining land in the track..Do you by chance know these people? Betty Frazer, frazer@vci.net Cowan/Bowman/Bowen Do you know this William Bowman/Bowen?
