Trish and List, I haven't been able to find parents or siblings for Elizabeth Cowan, born 1774 who married my ggg grandfather Josiah Ramsey, born 1769. The Ramseys were in what would become Wythe County, VA as early as 1768. They lived near Fort Chiswell in the Max Meadows Community. The only other clue I have is that Elizabeth Cowan's mother may have been a Gibbs, a sister of David Gibbs who lived in Wythe County near Robert Graham. Robert Graham married Mary Cowan, born about 1768 whose mother was a sister of David Gibbs. Does anyone have any record of a Gibbs/Cowan marriage? Rosemary Ramsey Cox
