My Cowan line is through Robert M. Cowan born 1791 in Chester Co., S. C. ,married to Ester McCollum. One of their sons James Cowan born 1816 in Chester Co., S. C., married Etha Malinda Marks in 1840 in Newton County, Ga. James and Eta's son William Tom Cowan born 1847, married Sarah Francis Evans 1870 in Henry County, Ga. William and Sarah's daughter Arrie Lorene Cowan born 1871 marrie Aaron Thomas Polk 1889 in Newton Co., Ga. Arrie and Aaron Polk were my great grandparents. Anyone connect to this line of Cowans.
