I am searching for the parents of Elizabeth Cowan born 1774 who married Josiah Ramsey about 1790. Elizabeth and Josiah were in Wythe County, VA from 1792 until about 1799. In 1800 they paid tax in Lee County, VA. In 1801 they purchased property in Claiborne County, TN, and lived there for the remainder of their lives. They had 13 children. Her sons were Thomas, James, Josiah, David, and William. Her daughters were Elizabeth, Eleanor, Mary, Margaret, Rachel, Phoebe, Ruth, and Sarah. Josiah Ramsey built and operated a grist mill near Mulberry Gap which is now in Hancock County, TN. He was also a Justice of the Peace in Claiborne County, TN.
