Does anyone know who this is? I haven't started looking for the brother of Rev. Samuel M. Cowan (John) yet, but he was supposed to have had a son named William that would have been born after the family moved to the Holly Springs area. I don't yet know if there is any evidence that John remained in Miss, and all I have are family records for the names, but this could be a connection. 1909 could mean a death record. Anyone clues? Found the family in the 1880 Census. If it is correct, William's parents were born in NC.
