    3. I know many of you will not be excited about this, but some who descend from ol' Sam Covey of NY and Quebec might be. I was playing around on the MI Death Indexing System, just plugging in names I was researching since so many went there from Quebec and NY. I put in COVEY for father's name. I got back "Debba Langway", who would be aka Deborah Longeway, died 14 Oct 1884 Columbia, Tuscola Co, MI, married, 81 yrs old, birthplace CAN, parents: James and Elizabeth COVEY, born CAN. This is the URL: http://www.mdch.state.mi.us/pha/osr/gendisx/search.htm What was Deborah doing in MI? There are so many missing children for her and Joseph Longeway, that someone must have ended up there. I came up empty on the 1880 MI census, but who knows how Longeway might have been spelled? There is so very little known about the 13 children they had, but somehow, at least one of them landed there. I'm so thrilled to have the death date of another early Covey. Even though she is listed as married, I can not locate Joseph Longeway -- their search ends in 1884, and she died in Oct. Joseph - if there - must have died after that. Anyway -- I was thrilled -- just "out there" looking around and came across Deborah, far from home. I also found Samuel Covey, aged 79-6-1, died 16 Jun 1877 Almer, Tuscola Co, MI, born Ontario, s/o Samuel & Jane Covey, both born Canada. I still have not entered some of the Ontario Covey data into my database. Before I have to dig out everything, can someone give me a quick answer on this Samuel? Poor man died of "gravel" -- what does that mean? Did it fall on him, did he get swallowed up by it? Geesh...
