Uriah Covey & George Washington Covey were brothers and sons of Alpheus Covey. Uriah went CA, and George OR. I am told by husband of deceased descendant of Uriah that they used Cuhvey & George's descendants used Coovey. I have spoken to Covey cousin in OR and she claims that the family used to joke and say the ones who used Cuhvey were the snobs. Since the only Coveys she knew were distant relatives, they must have said it differently. If info I was given is correct, you have descendants from same person saying it differently.
