Though you wrote this off list, I'm replying to the list since others may wonder the same thing. Ancestors and Descendants of Walter Covey Dutchess County, New York (1850-1834) 2 volumes copyright 1871 by Mary Lancaster Quist Library of Congress Catalog Card Number 72-91104, no ISBN number shows on books They were "published by The Covey Family Genealogical Organization", printed by Publishers Press, Salt Lake City. After I aquired the books in a book store in Indiana, I contacted Mary Quist who lived close by in Santa Ana CA. She expressed suprise that I was able to find them since there weren't many printed and she thought they were all accounted for (mine were new, not used and I paid $40 for the set - way under what she had charged). I got the impressed she thought there was something very suspicious about my having them, and she was not at all forthcoming on further data. A few years later I tried to call her again. Long story short, she had died in the meantime, and I tried to track her sons through the LDS (she was Morman) and got no response. I used a proper LDS form to find out about them, and I was ultimately told that if they had info they would respond, but if no response, it meant no info. So, the family is a dead end. I gathered that the family organization was just a name for business purposes, much like I use Root Chasers for my own family organization, immediate family are the only members. As for getting a copy through IL loan - well, you'd have to search to find a library with a copy and then see if they will IL loan. > My line is: > Laura COVEY, m. abt 1832 NY to Nelson FULLER > b.1 Nov 1811 NY; d. 13 Aug 1842 MI; > (Nelson is my proven connection to the Mayflower Pilgrim, > Edward Fuller) > Benjamin COVEY m. Periodically, when I see a post by someone looking for their Covey connection *and I have the time to do it*, I will grab the books and see if there is anything that will help. So far, I've never found anything that would help anyone. -- Kathryn Rhinehart Bassett (Pasadena CA) "Genealogy is my bag" "GH is my soap" kathryn@bassett.net http://bassett.net
